The Harry A. Miller Club lost part of its soul over the last couple of years when two of its most enthusiastic members, Chuck Davis and David Uihlein, both passed away. But enthusiasm for the aesthetically stunning and world-beating creations of Harry Armenius Miller never wanes. That’s why the 18th annual Millers at Milwaukee gathering for vintage race cars is on for July 6-7 at the Milwaukee Mile in West Allis, Wisconsin, one of America’s most historic speedways.

The reunion attracts Millers, sure, but also post-war Indy cars that took their inspiration from original Miller designs such as the “letdown” roadsters that used angled-over Offenhauser power. We’ve seen cars dating back to the Sig Haugdahl-driven Wisconsin Special here. This year’s gathering also commemorates the 100th anniversary of the Vanderbilt Cup race in Milwaukee, won by Ralph De Palma. The club president, we should add, is Dana Mecum, himself a huge fan of Miller’s greatness. For info, visit HarryMillerClub.com.
